Packers Part Ways with Carmichael ??

August 26, 1959 – Al Carmichael, the busiest kick return man in Packers history, is put on waivers. Carmichael, the Packers No. 1 draft choice in 1953, returned a team-record 253 punts and kickoffs in six seasons in Green Bay. The loss of Carmichael opens the door for rookie Bill Butler to lead the team in kick returns in 1959.
