Packers Learn Lesson, Release Stachowicz ??

August 23, 1983 – The Packers release punter Ray Stachowicz and admit they erred when using a third-round draft choice to select him. “When we took Ray in 1981, we thought we were set for 10 years,” Director of Player Personnel Dick Corrick says. “The lesson we learned is that you don’t draft that high for a punter.” Bucky Scribner becomes Green Bay’s punter in 1983.
