"The Gates of Paradise" (1425-1452)". It was Michelangelo, admiring the fine work of Lorenzo Ghiberti, who gave them their modern name.The original is kept in the Duomo Museum on Cathedral Square. The gate is divided into ten gilded panels depicting stories from the Bible.
