Cafe Florian is the oldest cafe in Italy, it has left a lasting mark on the history of Venice: Rousseau, Byron,Goethe, Madame de Stael,Thomas Mann, Diaghilev, Ernest Hemingway, Stravinsky, Brodsky, Marcel Proust, Mark Twain loved to visit here. Once Wagner would go to the cafe "Florian" to have a cup of coffee, then he would approach the orchestra and conduct it, provided that the musicians were able to play his, Wagner's composition.
