Packers Select Rice’s Tobin Rote in First Round ??

Jan. 21, 1950 – The Packers select 29 players including Tobin Rote in the 15th annual college draft. Green Bay lands Rote, a quarterback from Rice University, with the 17th selection overall. Rote never misses a game in seven seasons with the team (1950-56) and is Green Bay’s all-time leading passer at the time he is traded to Detroit in 1957.
