Kush Removes Name From Packers’ Coaching Search ??

Jan. 13, 1971 – Arizona State Coach Frank Kush removes himself from consideration to replace Phil Bengtson as coach of the Packers. Kush, who guided the Sun Devils to an 11-0 season, is one of at least three names to have surfaced to potentially succeed Bengtson, who resigned two days after a 6-8 season. Others who met with Packers officials include Penn State’s Joe Paterno and Missouri’s Dan Devine.
