Packers Hand Reins to Marquette’s Blackbourn ??

January 7, 1954 – Lisle Blackbourn is named the third head coach in Packers history. Blackbourn, who had guided Marquette University to an 18-17-4 record in four years as coach, reportedly signs a three-year contract with Green Bay that pays $15,000 annually. Green Bay goes 4-8 in Blackbourn’s first year at the helm.
