Packers Sign Mercein to Replace Hobbled Pitts ??

Nov. 9, 1967 – Green Bay signs fullback Chuck Mercein to replace Elijah Pitts (torn Achilles tendon). Though he gains only 56 yards rushing in the six remaining regular-season games, Mercein comes up with a pair of key first downs in the Ice Bowl to help propel the Packers to their second consecutive Super Bowl appearance.
