Packers Get Hinkle, Herber to Return ??

August 18, 1941 – Clarke Hinkle and Arnie Herber come to terms with the Packers and report for practice. Hinkle’s signing comes weeks after he had announced his retirement. He’ll lead the Packers in rushing with 393 yards in 1941, while Herber’s days in Green Bay come to an end when he’s waived less than a week before the start of the regular season.
