Packers Release Lombardi From Contract ??

Feb. 5, 1969 – The Green Bay Packers Executive Committee and the team’s Board of Directors meet in closed session and unanimously agree to release Vince Lombardi from his contract. The move opens the door for a return to coaching for the legend. Lombardi will join the Washington Redskins as coach, general manager and part owner.
