Feb. 1, 2001 – Packers General Manager Ron Wolf announces his retirement and President Bob Harlan tabs second-year Coach Mike Sherman to replace him. “I don’t know what there is out there for people that only know football. I’m sure there’s nothing. There’s a side of me that’s frightened because I’m going to an area I don’t know: the area of unemployment and the unknown,” says Wolf.
